Cabling Infrastructure

Cabling, often underestimated, is the heart of any network. Correct design and implementation of a cabling infrastructure will ensure many years of reliable service as well as minimising cost for additions and changes in the future. Incorrect design and deployment will cause frustrating failures and increased cost of change in the future.

We have a great deal of experience with designing generic sub floor systems within commercial office space to generate additional revenue for landlords.

Riviera Networks are authorised installers of Hellermann Tyton and Molex cabling solutions up to the latest performance levels of copper and fibre.

Unlike many installers we have significant experience with pre-terminated cabling solutions, our team developed a system which delivered 40,000 CAT6 outlets for a new HQ campus in West London as well as working with Hellermann Tyton to develop their product and deliver for Norwich Union.

Our team have had experience of delivering a vast range of projects and contracts, from small works / moves and changes, through to design and delivery of infrastructure for HQ Buildings. We are able to provide fixed price quotations for complete solutions, unit rates or labour only projects.  A number of our existing staff carry SC clearance for security controlled environments such as Police Stations, Prisons and MOD sites.

We also provide support and maintenance services for planned and adhoc infrastructure changes. We currently have contracted engineers in London providing moves & changes and first line support for cabling and voice / data systems across a number of clients buildings.

This enables organizations to scan, at wire speed, for malware, spyware, bots and trojans entering the network through web-based backdoors. We can also provide protection from personal web email accounts, where many viruses and worms propagate, and performance degradation from peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic.

We are an APC partner and have designed and deployed numerous solutions up to 30Kva.

Management of the selected device can be integrated into your IP network and monitored locally or via our remote monitoring service.

We also have experience with the design and deployment of the APC InfrastruXure product range, we have recently designed a data centre based entirely around this product suite, including inline cooling, hot aisle containment, power supply and cooling management.

Local or remotely hosted corporate class e-mail solutions

Increasingly, full corporate class functionality is required by even the smallest of remote sites. It is also now recognised that professional communication between work colleagues and clients is essential to portray the right image for any business. Many building operators now require communication to/from tenants to be from a recognised building focused domain name rather than a random third party email address.

To this end we have developed a number of options which can be deployed based on the numbers of users.

In all cases full outlook functionality ( shared calendars etc ) is possible including web access to outlook for more mobile workers. All solutions benefit from regular data back ups

PC & Printer provision

All our products and services ultimately lead to the end user. Without a robust supportable desktop platform the rest can be academic. We only deploy what we consider to be “Tier One” hardware from HP and Dell. All our solutions are supported by ourselves and we in turn are supported by the manufacturers. Desktop hardware can be supported remotely for first line diagnosis and resolution where possible, defaulting to on site engineering attendance where a resolution cannot be found. Printers and peripherals from the same manufacturers are supported to the same levels, and by taking advantage of the Riviera Networks turnkey approach even consumables such as toner and cartridges can be ordered and presented on the clients single invoice.

IPTV & Audio Visual

Ever Wanted to make use of your IP network to deliver TV signals to TVs and desktop PCs ? With our Exterity product this is now possible. The TV server approach eliminates the need to have co-axial cables run to specific points in your office, you can now deliver this service anywhere you a data outlet.

We also work with a number of manufacturers such as Polycom and Tandberg to deliver Audio and Video conferencing solutions, either via traditional dial up or across an IP network. We can encompass these elements, including support and maintenance, into our turnkey solution offering.

PBX, Telephone system provision

We currently supply and support systems from Mitel, Cisco, Siemens & Panasonic. Each selected on its merits for the individual project. These systems have been selected for their ability to deliver standard PBX, IP telephony or hybrid solutions in any environment. As with all things, the solution must be “ fit for purpose “ , we will always avoid over-engineering a solution as this inevitably leads to increased maintenance and running costs in the future which are not always appropriate. These systems can scale from 4 users up to several thousand !

As with our other product offerings support and maintenance is dealt with by ourselves with the ultimate support of the manufacturer, remote diagnostics and on site engineering are available with all packages. Lines & Circuits

We have established numerous wholesale relationships with Service Providers and ISPs enabling us to provide any type or scale of circuit as part of our solutions.

We will deal with initial ordering and the minefield of technical forms that are required to provide a circuit, as well as the ongoing rental and call charges if applicable. Ongoing management of service provider bills can be a headache for a large site, ever had a pile of BT bills and wondered what they were all for ?

We can audit all your existing bills and consolidate them all ( even of they are from different suppliers ) into a single easy to understand invoice, saving admin time and avoiding the dreaded reconnection charges. You continue to pay the same rates as if dealing direct, we take a commission from the provider and take your pain away !

Wireless Network Solutions for business and guest access

Wifi is becoming more extensively used as a core business solution in many environments. It will never replace cabling can be a useful supplement in many cases. With the advent of public initiatives such as the City of London Wifi in conjunction with “ The Cloud “, Wireless access, whether chargeable or free is becoming a pre-requisite for any modern building. Business applications such as touchdown areas or PDAs for security or building service teams make good use of corporate secure Wifi, whilst guest access for areas such as receptions and meeting rooms can be delivered via unsecure systems. There are few environments where Guest Wifi access can deliver a return on investment, and is more often than not better viewed as a building utility. Where charging is required we can deliver the Airangel wireless access solution where payment can be made via credit card, text message or branded scratch cards. A branded landing page can be created containing the landlords or building managers information.

Sub Floor Power Solutions

More often than not an office fit out will require sub floor power provision as well as IT structured cabling. It is common for the electrical element to be delivered via the fit out contractor whilst the IT cabling is designed and delivered by a separately appointed IT cabling contractor. This approach often leads to a breakdown in co-ordination of sub floor services and the need to manage two contractors for this work. Particularly important is the need to maintain separation distances and cross over points to meet the IT systems manufacturers requirements

We have developed a sub floor bus bar design to suit 99% of all commercial environments, and as this is designed by us in conjunction with the IT cabling the systems will always be complimentary and deliver the same level of flexibility to the desktop.

Working with the Electrac and Ackermann we have developed an almost “of the peg” solution to deal with base build installation as well as the subsequent delivery of service to the desktop. Delivered for an all encompassing single cost this further enhances the single supplier approach of all the elements of our service offering. We can include the busbar system, associated wiring and testing, supply and installation of tap of leads and floor access grommets or floorboxes.
